This policy explains how Z/S “Strūves” processes personal data when you use struves.lv.

2. Contact enquiries
If you submit the contact form, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number and message, to receive, assess and answer your enquiry and to continue related business correspondence.
Contact Form 7 sends the enquiry by email and does not, by itself, store a separate submission archive in WordPress. Messages are delivered through our Microsoft 365 business email environment. We keep business correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, the resulting business relationship and applicable legal or accounting requirements.
3. Necessary website functions
The website uses limited first-party storage required for functionality. The struves_language cookie remembers your language choice for up to 365 days. The struves_analytics_consent cookie remembers whether you allowed or declined optional analytics for up to 180 days.
On a first visit we may use the visitor’s country at request time to choose Latvian for visitors detected in Latvia and English for other visitors. We do not maintain our own database of visitor IP addresses or precise locations for this purpose.
4. Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is connected through the official Google Site Kit plugin. Our cookie banner sends your choice to WordPress’s WP Consent API, and Site Kit uses Google Consent Mode to apply that choice to the Google tag.
Before you allow analytics, statistics consent is denied. The Google tag may load in consent-denied mode to communicate the consent state to Google, but Analytics storage remains denied and Analytics cookies are not permitted by our consent settings. Marketing consent, advertising storage and advertising personalization remain denied even if you allow analytics.
After consent, Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate website usage, including page and product views, traffic sources, approximate geographic area, device/browser information, engagement, site search, downloads, outbound links and selected website interactions such as successful contact-form submissions, telephone clicks, email clicks and language switching.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, contact-form message contents or a site user ID to Google Analytics. Google Analytics may use IP addresses during collection to derive coarse location and for service operation, but Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.

5. AI crawler statistics
We keep aggregate counts of requests that identify themselves with documented AI crawler user-agent names, for example OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity crawlers. We store the crawler name, requested page, date and aggregate request count. Detailed daily records are retained for 24 months and monthly aggregates are retained for long-term trend analysis. We may also keep aggregate counts of visits whose referrer domain clearly identifies a known AI service; only the AI service name, landing page, date and count are stored, not the full referrer URL. We do not store IP addresses, AI prompts or conversation contents in this analytics database. User-agent names can be imitated, so crawler statistics indicate claimed identity unless separately verified.
6. Legal bases
We process contact enquiries and ordinary website operation where necessary to respond to requests, operate the website and pursue legitimate business interests. Google Analytics is used only on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time through “Cookie settings” in the website footer.
7. Recipients and international processing
Personal data may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the website and business communications, including our web-hosting infrastructure, Microsoft 365 for email, and Google Analytics when you consent. These providers process data under their own contractual and legal safeguards and may use infrastructure outside Latvia or the European Economic Area where legally permitted.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable data-protection law, you may request access to your personal data, correction or deletion, restriction of processing, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate.
